Operatives of the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have reportedly arrested controversial Nigerian music act Naira Marley. 

While the offence of Naira Marley whose real name is Afeez Fashola remains unknown, observers believe it might be unconnected to his recent glorification of internet fraud known as ‘Yahoo Yahoo’.

Naira Marley recently became an internet sensation after his banter with singer, Simi over her condemnation of ‘Yahoo Yahoo’ which Naira believes is not a crime. 

In one of his Instagram post, he shared that “if u know slavery u go know say yahoo no be crime.” 

BlackBox Nigeria has learnt that the singer is being held for questioning at the EFCC Lagos office. His arrest is coming barely a day after he dropped a new single on the same issue titled ‘Am I a yahoo boy’ which features Zlatan.
