Grammy winning Nigerian superstar Wizkid has sparked a fresh controversy after he threw shades at fellow artist Davido’s cryptocurrency venture.
In a tweet on Thursday, Wizkid wrote, “Work smart, make you no go hustle like fool,” seemingly criticizing Davido’s launch of a meme coin on the Solana blockchain on Wednesday.
Davido’s meme coin, $DAVIDO, crashed overnight, losing a significant portion of its value. The token, which was launched with much fanfare, had been heavily promoted by Davido on social media.
The two musicians have a history of public disagreements, with their last notable feud occurring on Twitter when Wizkid shared a personal video of Davido, which sparked a huge controversy and drew widespread attention. The video showed Davido in a compromising position, pleading for intimacy from a lady rumored to be his side chick, and was captioned “beg me like this”.
