Women Directorate Mobilises For Tokunbo Abiru In Ikorodu With Motorcade

 

The Directorate of Women Affairs of the Tokunbo Abiru campaign ably led by Yeye Fausat Gbadebo, the All Progressives Congress Women Leader for Lagos East Senatorial District today, September 27, 2020, mobilizes support across Ikorodu ahead of the Lagos East bye-election scheduled for October 31.

The well-attended motorcade campaign that took off from the Tokunbo Abiru campaign office on Beach road opposite Ikorodu abbatoir and drove through Post office, Ita-Elewa, Ireshe Road, Ota-Ona, Obafemi Awolowo road, Constituency office of Honourable SOB Agunbiade, back to Alhaji street, Ayangbure Road before ending at Abiru’s campaign office.

Speaking with BlackBox Nigeria, Yeye Fausat Gbadebo said the campaign to reach both decided and undecided voters became necessary because of the directive given by the Lagos East APC Candidate for the bye-election, Tokunbo Abiru that members of the party should move into communities within the district to canvass and share his programmes with the people.

”We had to come out in our numbers to support our symbol and party, APC. As you can see with the turnout, the women of Lagos East are behind Tokunbo Abiru and we would do everything within our capacity to deliver the much expected one million voters. I thank all the members of my Directorate for mobilising for this Abiru agenda. We are starting the motorcade campaign with Ikorodu today, we would be moving to Ibeju-Lekki, Somolu, Epe, and Kosofe to pass the message that come October 31, 2020, Tokunbo Abiru is the right candidate to vote.

”Residents of Lagos East should know that Tokunbo Abiru has the capacity and experience to represent Lagos East. Even without being in office, he has a track record of being compassionate and lifting people up. He is currently empowering women and I believe he would do more when elected.”

At Majority Leader, SOB Agunbiade’s constituency office, the Lawmaker appreciated the Directorate of Women Affairs for leading the campaign by sacrificing their sleep to mobilize this early.

He encouraged the women not to relent on their activities until it is announced that Tokunbo Abiru has been declared a senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria representing Lagos East.

Other prominent personalities that graced the occasion are Hon. Adebimpe Akinsola, Assistant Director of the Directorate of Women Affairs and former Ag. Commissioner Tourism, Arts & Culture, Alhaja Risikat Oloyede, Comrade Kehinde Okeowo, Vice Chairman, Ikorodu Central, Folashade Oba, Vice Chairman, Ijede LCDA, Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, WAPA of the LGA and five LCDAs in Ikorodu division amongst others.
