By One Mrs. Ifeoma Ezeugwu, has been arrested by Enugu police operatives for allegedly drilling nails into the head of her 10-year-old housemaid.
The Chairperson of the Women Aids Collective (WACOL), Prof. Joy Ngozi Ezeilo, said her office was alerted, Friday, about the case, as the suspect have reportedly tutored the victim with a hot pressing iron.
“This is gory, the innocent girl was tortured because she was born to a poor widow who gave her up to live with someone else, in hope of a better life.
“We pray that she recovers, we demand full wrath of the law on Mrs. Ifeoma for inflicting such amount of pain on the little girl.
“I spoke to the distraught mother of the victim, she is a poor widow, living in a rural village in Aku, near NSUKKA, it is time we eradicate child labor, ban and punish heavily anyone using children as domestic help. ” Prof. Joy said.
