Daniel Regha has once again ignited controversy with his critique of Wizkid’s latest album, Morayo, and its associated imagery.
Regha rated the project a disappointing 3.5/10, declaring, “It might be a commercial success due to hype, but unf@rtunately it’s n@t the album of the year people hope it will be.”
He slammed the album for lacking depth, describing it as “two songs divided into subparts” and criticizing the repetitive nature of the tracks. Songs like Bend were singled out as examples of a project more suited for Tiktok trends than artistic expression.
While he praised Pray and Kese (Dance) as “a little refreshing,” he claimed most tracks sounded like rejects from previous projects, adding that the highly anticipated collaboration with Asake on Bad Girl failed to deliver.
Regha also expressed surprise that Wizkid didn’t dedicate any song to his late mother, a sentiment many fans shared. Summarizing his thoughts, he said, “The album is a 3.5/10 mainly due to the beats & the experimentation of new sounds. It would’ve been best if this was an EP with 4-5 songs. No offense.”
In addition to critiquing the music, Regha called out Wizkid for the cover art of Morayo, which features the star smoking. Regha tweeted, “Smoking is dangerous to one’s health, it’s not a flex or a habit one should normalize. It’s best to quit before it causes health problems.”
This sparked a heated debate online. A user, @Cleverlydey4u, mocked Regha, saying, “Poor man dey advice rich man,” while @Aikhuele countered, “So cos he’s poor he shouldn’t advise what’s right?” Other users chimed in, with @Bensynn_ quipping, “As country dey like this so, na only weed fit ease person depression,” and @Odumeje_ adding, “Na Cana them de use stream Morayo.”
While Wizkid has yet to respond, the conversation has drawn attention to the influence of celebrity habits on fans and public health. Morayo is expected to be released soon, with fans eagerly anticipating the album despite the ongoing debate.
