‘There will be no election in Ikorodu’ -INEC Adhoc staff threaten
The office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Ikorodu is currently under siege as aggrieved adhoc staff are currently staging a protest.
BlackBox Nigeria exclusively gathered that the adhoc staff were recently trained by the commission but were surprised to be told that they didn’t qualify after a three-day training.
According to one of the affected officers, the leadership of the commission played a fast one on them as they already had those they intended using even before the training.
“They released a list and 90% of those of us who were trained didn’t see our names. Instead we saw new names of people who never participated in the training”, the aggrieved individual who wants to be anonymous disclosed to BlackBox Nigeria.
The situation became so tense to the extent that the commission’ share was forcefully opened by the angry youths who kept chanting “pay us our training money”.

BlackBox Nigeria can also report that the commission has now beefed up security around the premises as tens of mobile policemen were reinforced to calm the situation. The aggrieved adhoc staff however remain unperturbed as they insist on being paid before they leave or else there will be no election in Ikorodu.
As at the time of filing this report, the Electoral officer wasn’t available for comments.
