Four years after its announced exit, ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire’ reality show is set to return on screen. The intelligence-probing show becomes the second reality show to be revived this month after Gulder Ultimate Search.

Before drawing its curtain in 2017, the educative show graced Nigeria’s TV screen for 13 years, anchored by Frank Edoho who later resigned after a failed agreement with the then producers of the show, Ultima Studios in September, 2017.

The 49-year old TV personality is remembered for putting contenders at the edge of what he usually described as the ‘hot seat’. The first era of the show was captivating, suspense-loaded, mind-probing, and breathtaking.

Meanwhile, the organizers of this coming edition, BLK HUT Media, has assured the audience that the show will return in its usual educative and entertaining format — picking up from where it left, but with an increased grand prize of N20 million.

According to TheCable Lifestyle, the show will retain its famous three-circled chances which are lifelines: 50/50, where the computer randomly erase two wrong options while leaving the correct option and a wrong option for pick; “Phone a friend”, where the contender calls a friend for answer; and “Ask the audience”, where members of the audience picks an answer, which will be graphically displayed for the contester using their touchpad.

Commending the return of the show, the CEO of the organizing company, Hakeem Condotti, expressed his excitement over the revival of the show he described as “international quality content”.

He also lauded the effort of his organization in displaying their sense of creativity and intelligence.

“As a company, our desire is to continuously deliver creative, intelligent, and professional content to the market for the people and partner brands; and in the production of a brand with WWTBAM stature, we are able to show our range and capacity to this effect,” he said.

Condotti described the revived show as a part of Covid-19 relief that the nation needs.

It is, however, still uncertain about who will host the latest edition of the show since Frank Edoho has resigned. But whoever it tends to be, many hope he or she has enough up his or her sleeves to keep the momentum going.
