The above quote represents my thought on designing a developmental way-forward for Nigeria. If I believe in the person that made the quote is a discussion for another day.

To achieve development, governance should be seen as a business with dividends of democracy represented in the form of services and inclusive welfare packages to the people.

Governance should come in the form of a profit and lost balance sheet with its attendant risk, how to manage it and possible insurance plan to mitigate against people’s lost.

Any Presidential candidate that would deserve my vote in 2019 must be able to present a proposal that shows source of revenue to run the government, alternative source of revenue should known challenges of insecurity, poverty, unemployment and illiteracy blur out revenue options proposed.

I will like him to present a backup plan should alternative revenue sources also fail, this is 21st century governance, I will expect my president to come in prepared.

Further to the above, I will want him to tell me in clear terms where he would be investing the generated revenue with timelines.

I will want my President in 2019 to present risk analysis of his intended investment and his strategic plan to curtail the risk to the barest minimum.

I will want him to present his communication plan in the short and long term with dates; including provisions for unforeseen happenstances.

Finally, I will appreciate if I can get measurable quarterly profit margin analysis and re-investment plan.

My President in 2019 must understand that he is coming to govern a defunct and bankrupt country, he must come up with his A-Game. Enough of all this talakawa-pro-poor narratives that has taken us to no where. Be Safe.
