Bristol Isaac Tamunobifiri, a whistleblower known for the @pidomnigeria handle on X (formerly Twitter), has been arraigned following his exposure of alleged government misconduct and excessive spending.

According to Olumuyiwa Adejobi, spokesperson for the police, Tamunobifiri faces multiple charges including criminal conspiracy, violations of the Official Secrets Act, dissemination of classified documents, acts likely to provoke public disorder, sedition, fraud, and tax evasion.

Isaac gained attention through his @PIDOMNigeria account for regularly disclosing government confidential documents which includes a State House document revealing substantial spending on luxury accommodations during the United Nations General Assembly in New York by President Tinubu’s administration, confidential police statements, and many more.

However, he pleaded not guilty to all charges before Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court in Abuja. The court scheduled a bail hearing for September 23, 2024, and ordered his remand at the Kuje Correctional Centre pending trial.
