Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola Olalomi, popularly known as Portable, has been declared wanted by the Nigeria Police Force over allegations of conspiracy, serious assault, going armed, conduct likely to cause a breach of public peace, and attempted murder.

A Special Police Gazette Bulletin, issued by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ogun State Police Command, revealed that a Magistrate Court in Ogun State had issued a warrant for Portable’s arrest. The bulletin alleges that on February 5, 2025, at 10:00 AM, the singer recruited armed thugs who attacked officials of the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development at Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu, Ota, Ogun State.

The police described Portable as a 31-year-old Yoruba male, hip-hop artist, 5.5 feet tall, medium-built, with a round face, brown complexion, and tinted hair. His last known address was Odogun Bar/Restaurant, Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu, Ota, Ogun State. Authorities have urged the public to report any information regarding his whereabouts to the nearest police station or the Deputy Commissioner of Police, CID, State Police Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Portable’s legal troubles come amid an ongoing dispute with the Ogun State Government over his properties. The state authorities had earlier sealed his uncompleted building and hotel over alleged illegal development without approval. On February 12, 2025, Portable made an emotional appeal to President Bola Tinubu, urging him to intervene in the matter. The singer claimed that despite his contributions to the community—including installing streetlights and repairing roads—his properties were still being targeted. He further alleged that his problems with the government stemmed from his political support for Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi.

“They are angry at me because I wore Yayi’s shirt and promoted him,” he lamented in an Instagram video. Despite his grievances, Portable still extended goodwill to Governor Dapo Abiodun, saying, “After God, na government. Zazuu, I dey humble.”

Meanwhile, the Ogun State Government had previously issued a stern warning to Portable over his alleged habit of assaulting government officials. In a statement signed by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Information and Strategy, Kayode Akinmade, the government condemned the singer’s actions, describing them as unacceptable and barbaric. The statement alleged that Portable and his thugs had attacked state planning officials in the Iyana-Ilogbo area while they were carrying out official duties.

Governor Dapo Abiodun’s administration vowed to take legal action against Portable, stating that no one is above the law, regardless of social status or influence. As the police continue their manhunt, Portable’s latest legal battle adds to his history of controversies, from public altercations with show promoters to clashes with law enforcement.
