Weeks after he announced his defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC), a member of the House of Representatives, Shina Peller has removed the ruling party’s flag from his office.
It would be recalled that the lawmaker, who represents Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa Federal Constituency of Oyo State, recently joined the Accord Party.
Peller had failed to clinch the APC ticket for Oyo North Senatorial District, after losing to the incumbent, Senator Fatai Buhari at the primary held in May.
In his resignation letter, the politician had said he dumped the ruling party due to the “undemocratic acts and decisions” of some stakeholders of Oyo APC against the people of Oke-Ogun where he hails from.
Defending his choice of Accord party, Peller, in a statement, had noted that the party “happens to be the first party in Oyo State to zone Oyo North Senatorial ticket to Oke Ogun considering that Ogbomosho Zone had done two terms.”
On Monday, the lawmaker took to his Instagram page to share a video capturing moments the APC flag was pulled down from his office in the National Assembly.
“There’s time from everything. Big thank you to the APC for the life experience. It’s time for a fresh beginning. We move. One Accord,” he captioned the video.
