Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima has appointed Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, the Spokesperson of the Northern Elders Forum (NEF), as the Special Adviser on Political Issues.
This announcement marks a crucial addition to the vice president’s team and highlights the growing importance of political expertise in shaping the nation’s future.
Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, widely recognized in political circles, is also notable for being the elder brother of Datti Baba-Ahmed, the running mate to the opposition Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, in the last general elections.
His deep-rooted political connections and experience make him a valuable asset in the realm of political strategy and decision-making.
Baba-Ahmed took to his social media platform earlier today to share the news of his new appointment.
He expressed his gratitude, stating,
“It is time to make it public that I have accepted the call to serve as Special Adviser (Political) to the VP. This is not the time for fence-sitting or criticism when you can be useful in turning the country around. I am honored and humbled. Please pray for me & Nigeria.”
This appointment follows Baba-Ahmed’s previous role as the Chief of Staff to ex-Senate President Bukola Saraki from 2017 to 2019.
His extensive experience in political affairs and governance further underscores the significance of this appointment.
