Muslim families and fun seekers in Ikorodu are gearing up for the third edition of The Eid Hangout Ikorodu Experience, an outdoor event designed to offer a morally conscious celebration of Eid-el-Fitr.
The Convener, Waliu Adeyeri, in an interview with BlackBox Nigeria, said the event, themed “Vibing without Sins,” was created to provide a safe and wholesome environment for Muslims to unwind without engaging in acts considered contrary to Islamic teachings.
According to Adeyeri, the initiative was born out of the need to create an inclusive space where families can celebrate the end of Ramadan in a relaxed atmosphere while upholding religious values.
“It is an avenue where Muslims and fun lovers gather to unwind, network and felicitate the Eid-il-Fitr festival without engaging in acts frowned upon by Allah,” he said.
He noted that the 2026 edition marks the third installment of the gathering and promises to be more elaborate than previous editions.
Organisers say this year’s experience will feature expanded activities aimed at catering to different age groups.
The event is open to all ages, with special attractions such as a Kids Fun Arena, live contests for both young people and adults, and an Eid Fair designed to support small and medium-scale entrepreneurs. The fair will provide business owners with an opportunity to showcase and advertise their products to attendees.
Adeyeri explained that during festive periods, parents often focus primarily on their children’s enjoyment, sometimes neglecting their own need for relaxation or engaging in activities that may not align with their faith.
“At The Eid Hangout, we are not leaving anyone behind in the fun. We are here to prove that we can vibe without sins,” he added.
Attendance is pegged at a flat rate of N3,000, with organisers assuring participants of a vibrant yet modest celebration atmosphere.
With preparations underway, the Eid Hangout is expected to draw residents from Ikorodu and neighbouring communities seeking a balanced blend of entertainment, networking and faith-conscious festivity.
