We’re often told, as young people, to ‘act now,’ ‘take our future into our own hands,’ and become the leaders of today, not tomorrow.
But the question I would love to ask is what role are leaders and society playing in making this possible?
In a society where connections often trump hard work, and bribery and corruption, the order of the day, can we truly thrive?
Across sectors, we see marginalization, nepotism, and favouritism hindering equal opportunities and stifling innovation.
A society where who you know is more important than what you know.
I strongly believe that for young people to make a meaningful impact, we need more than just personal drive and determination. We need a system that supports meritocracy, transparency, and accountability.
Government, private sectors, and institutions must also play their part honestly.
It’s time for all hands to be on deck, working together to create a just society where young people can thrive.
We need a collective effort to drive positive change, where every sector is willing and ready to act with integrity.
Only then can we unlock the full potential of our young people and build a brighter future for all.
Let’s make the system favourable for all!
