‘Unhappy’ Pogba keen on leaving Manchester United, eyes move to Madrid

Manchester United’s midfielder, Paul Pogba has reaffirmed his decision to leave the Old Trafford once he sees to his contract expiration by the end of this season.

The Frenchman fancied a move to Spain during the summer transfer with his desired destination being Real Madrid. His Manchester United’s current contract will end by the summer and he has spoken with the club’s Director over his future.

According to The Daily Star, Manchester United are also willing to let go of the 28-year-old midfielder on a free transfer as they have no intention of offering him a new contract.

Paul Pogba’s journey at the Old Trafford started back in 2007 when the then 14-year-old youngster was signed from French club, Le Havre. He joined the youth squad and went ahead to become a key member of the under-18s team. His impressive form made him a driving force at the FA Youth Cup-winning side.

Impressed by the youngster’s performance, Manchester United offered him a first-team opportunity which saw him made his senior debut against Leeds United in 2011 at the age of 18.

“I want to be a midfielder who can do everything, and at the highest levels: shoot, dribble, score, defend,” the midfielder once said.

His passion and hunger for more first-team appearance made him leave Manchester United for Juventus in 2013. Signing a four-year deal with the Old Lady, he went ahead to become a crucial tool for Juventus Serie A title win that season- under Antonio Conte. His exploitz won him the Golden Boy award in 2013 for the best under-21 player in Europe, the under-20 World Cup with France, and the Golden Ball for the tournament’s star player.

After four successful years with the Bianconeri, Pogba made a return to Manchester United following an impressive display at Euro 2016. He continued his clinical display at the Old Trafford, earned himself a call-up into France 2018 World Cup squad, and eventually became a World Cup winner.

In total, Pogba has made 219 appearances for Manchester United across all competitions. He has also scored 38 goals in total for the Red Devils.

This season, however, has not being impressive for the Frenchman. He has just 13 appearances to his name, emerging in the starting lineup 10 times while coming up as a sub in three matches.
