In a rather interesting but competitive move that has sparked conversations across social media, smartphone brand itel has taken a direct jab at Apple’s latest release, the iPhone Air, in a new advert that compares battery capacity between the two devices.

The ad, posted on Itel’s page captioned “Just air? We’ve got something better!” boldly contrasts the iPhone Air’s 3149 mAh battery with the itel SUPER 26 Ultra’s massive 6000 mAh powerhouse.

Beneath the comparison, itel delivers the punchline: “Ultra, not just air”, a statement that many see as a direct swipe at Apple’s naming and design choices.

In the image, both phones are shown in profile are slim and sleek but itel aims to show that while Apple may offer “air,” itel delivers “ultra” performance, especially when it comes to battery life.

Battery life, a feature often crucial to users in emerging markets as compared to iPhone series.

The ad sparks into Gen Z’s meme-driven, audacious online culture and comes at a time when budget-friendly smartphone makers are becoming increasingly aggressive in showcasing their value over premium brands.
