As counting of votes in the January 14 Ugandan election is underway, Robert Kyagulanyi, also called Bobi Wine, a presidential candidate has alleged that the private security company that has been guarding his home for the last 12 years was withdrawn.
In a series of tweets posted on his official Twitter handle, Wine stated that the guards stationed at his house were disarmed by their supervisors who claimed to be following instructions.
He tweeted, “So, the private security company that has been guarding my home for the last 12 years has been ordered to withdraw security at my house.
“Their supervisors showed up unannounced at midnight, disarmed my guard and said they had instructions to immediately withdraw my security.”
Wine, a member of Parliament representing Kyadondo County East constituency, is contesting against incumbent President Yoweri Museveni who is seeking a sixth term in office.
The election was held amidst heavy security and internet blackout.
