As White House prepares to receive Joe Biden who is to be inaugurated on Wednesday, US President Donald Trump has pardoned 73 people in his last-minute decision.
According to a statement by his administration, those granted pardon include his former aide Steve Bannon who was charged with defrauding people over funds raised to build the Mexico border wall.
“President Donald J. Trump granted pardons to 73 individuals and commuted the sentences of an additional 70 individuals,” the statement read.
It added that the pardon would effectively wipe away charges against Bannon, if he was convicted.
Trump, however, already said he will be shunning Joe Biden’s inauguration, as he will reportedly fly to Florida on Wednesday morning.
