In a heart-wrenching incident that has left a community in shock, a 5-month-old baby lost her life to a vicious Alsatian dog attack at Hallelujah Estate in Osogbo, Osun.

The mother, Mrs. Nafisat Muideen, recounted her harrowing ordeal, emphasizing the lack of timely rescue during the attack.

The incident unfolded on a fateful Wednesday afternoon at around 1:45 p.m.

Mrs. Muideen was on her way to a pharmacy to purchase medicine for her ailing daughter.

As she walked, she heard a noise behind her, and when she turned around, the aggressive dog pounced on her, attacking the baby she was carrying on her back.

Desperate to protect her child, Mrs. Muideen struggled with the massive dog, but she was overpowered by its strength.

Shockingly, there were no bystanders in sight during this terrifying encounter.

It wasn’t until later that people rushed to her aid, but tragically, it was too late.

The dog had already taken the life of her precious baby.

The grieving mother, overcome with sorrow, shared her painful experience, saying,

“My baby had catarrh earlier, and I contracted it from her. I went out carrying my baby in the back to get drugs for myself and the baby. On my way out, I heard a sound from behind, by the time I turned round to check, a dog jumped from behind and attacked the baby. The people that came to my rescue managed to kill the dog, but by the time my baby was pulled out from under the dog, she was already dead,” she explained, sobbing.

After the horrific attack, Mrs. Muideen received medical attention at a nearby hospital before being taken to the police clinic, Oke-Fia, Osogbo, for further treatment.

Meanwhile, her husband, Oyegbade Muideen, is demanding to know the identity of the dog’s owner.

Confirming the incident, Mr. Adekola Timothy, Deputy Police Public Relations Officer for the Osun command, stated,

“Yes, the incident happened, and the police are currently searching for the owner of the dog.”

Investigations reveal that the killer dog had escaped from its enclosure located in an uncompleted building close to the victim’s house.

The owner of the unfinished structure remains unknown to the residents of the area, adding another layer of mystery to this tragic event.
