Nigerian actress and filmmaker Toyin Abraham has added another feather to her cap as her latest movie, Oversabi Aunty, becomes the fourth highest-grossing Nollywood film of all time.
The comedy, released in December 2025, has pulled in over ₦711 million in just over two weeks in cinemas across Nigeria and West Africa. This impressive figure puts it ahead of blockbuster hits like Funke Akindele’s Battle on Buka Street and Omo Ghetto: The Saga, placing it just behind A Tribe Called Judah, on the all-time chart.
According to distribution company FilmOne Entertainment, the film’s strong performance was driven by high audience turnout during the festive season, with many cinemas recording sold-out shows nationwide.
Toyin Abraham, who both starred in and produced the film, has received praise for the relatable storyline, comedic timing, and strong performances that have made Oversabi Aunty a fan favourite.
This success further cements Abraham’s place as a box-office powerhouse in Nollywood and highlights the growing influence of female filmmakers in Nigeria’s film industry.
The film’s momentum is still strong, and many analysts believe it could climb even higher on the all-time list in the coming weeks.
