Tope Alabi in paternity mess as estranged lover and husband lay claim to daughter
The Nigerian entertainment scene is witnessing another scandal over the paternity of a child as veteran gospel singer, Tope Alabi has been called out over the biological father of her first child, Ayomiku.
The top gospel musician who recently turned 50 has been accused of giving the child in question who reportedly belongs to her former lover to her husband, Soji Alabi.
According to a certain Mayegun Olaoye who claims to be the singer’s former live-in lover, the child was given birth to while they were still lovers but they separated after Tope Alabi was involved in a misdemeanor.
He said further that they were living together somewhere in Somolu area of Lagos when the musician got pregnant in 1997 and was delivered of a baby girl in 1998. The child according to him was delivered on 7th May, 1998 and he held her christening ceremony which was well attended by “all known Yoruba movie sector marketers” on May 14th, 1998.
While the estranged lover didn’t reveal what led to their separation, he stated that his grievance was because he has been denied access to the girl and that Tope Alabi changed her name to her new husband’s surname, Alabi. According to him, he named the child Mary Ayomiku Oyegoke but she now bears Alabi.
Ayomiku Alabi, the 22-year-old daughter in contention is a recent graduate of Bowen University. She runs a delivery service company named Lila’s Logistics.
