Tonte Ibraye, the governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has picked Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh as his running mate for the 2023 gubernatorial election in the state.
The controversial actress confirmed the development in an Instagram post on Friday, thanking Ibraye for the opportunity.
Dikeh also highlighted their plans for the people of Rivers State, adding that she feels proud to be a member of the #RiversRescueMission2023.
She urged residents of the state to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and join the movement.
“I thank Mr. Tonte Ibraye(@tonteibraye), the Governorship Candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Rivers State for nominating me as his running mate,” she wrote.
“We are looking forward to investing massively in social protection, creating a social value system for young people, increasing women’s inclusion in our governance system, supporting small businesses and strengthening our traditional institutions to be active players in the drive to bring sustainable development to the good people of Rivers State.

It would be recalled that in 2020, the movie star was appointed as the Director, Social & Empowerment of Committee of Youth on Mobilization and Sensitization (CYMS) under the President Muhammadu Buhari administration.
