President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended invitations to all the presidential candidates from the February 25 election, including Peter Obi of the Labour Party and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to attend his inauguration in Abuja scheduled for May.
This announcement came from Tinubu’s aide, Bayo Onanuga, in response to the Supreme Court ruling that dismissed the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) suit aimed at disqualifying Tinubu ahead of the May 29 inauguration.
Earlier, the Supreme Court had also dismissed a suit seeking the disqualification of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kashim Shettima as the presidential and vice-presidential candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
A five-member panel of the Supreme Court stated that the PDP and its presidential candidate did not have the locus standi to initiate the lawsuit.
The panel emphasized that the PDP is not a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
