It appears the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is coasting home to victory at the ongoing presidential primary of the party.
The counting of votes followed immediately after the votes were sorted at the venue of the primary, Eagle Square in Abuja.
The former Lagos State governor has taken the early lead after the votes from the first box were counted. Tinubu got more votes than other aspirants in the race including Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Senate President Ahmad Lawan, former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi and Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello.
At the time of filing this report, Tinubu has 577 votes, followed by Amaechi with 113 votes, Osinbajo with 77 votes while Lawan got 28 votes.
It would be recalled that seven presidential aspirants stepped down from the race to support the candidacy of Tinubu.
In a related development, another aspirant, Nicholas Felix also relinquished his presidential ambition for Osinbajo.
