The National leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has expressed his appreciation of President Muhammadu Buhari‘s visit to check up on him in London.
In a statement on Friday via his media aide, Tunde Rahman, Mr Tinubu said, “the visit was a friendly and welcome one that underscored the considerate and caring personality of our nation’s President and Commander-in-Chief. By this gesture, Mr. President has, again, demonstrated his personal thoughtfulness and humility; defying the erroneous commentaries peddled by his critics.”
Furthermore, Asiwaju thanks President Buhari for taking the time to visit him and wishes the President the very best as his administration continues to govern and lead the nation.
Mr Buhari had visited the APC leader on Friday, 12, August shortly, before departing London for Nigeria. This was after he spent 19 days in the United Kingdom. The president had attended a global education summit in the UK and had his medical check-up for the remaining days.
Former Governor of Lagos State, Mr Tinubu has been in the UK for about one month and speculations continue to mount over his health status. Two weeks earlier, his media office debunked claims that Tinubu was hospitalized abroad. This news came as a result of his evident absence during the local government elections and APC ward Congresses in the state.
Conclusively, even when Tinubu has not declared his intentions, as regards the 2023 presidential elections, campaigns by individual and groups for him to contest are in motion.
