President Bola Tinubu has appointed Bianca Odumegwu Ojukwu, as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, alongside seven other new ministers, during his recent cabinet reshuffle.

Bianca, the widow of late Biafra warlord, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, is a diplomat and also a former Nigerian Ambassador to Spain and Ghana.

Her late husband, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, was a Nigerian politician and military leader who played a role in Nigeria’s history as the leader of the breakaway Republic of Biafra during the Nigerian Civil War (1967-1970).

However, Bianca’s appointment has sparked varied reactions online. One user commented, “Tinubu is playing mind games with the Igbos. It’s a strategic move for 2027, but she’s seen more as a Super Mum figure to Igbos. It’s a good move from Tinubu.” Another user expressed surprise, stating, “Confusion everywhere. Nobody saw this coming.”

“This woman has gained more from APC than even APGA, the party her husband founded. She even faced public criticism from an APGA woman once. It’s puzzling who supports her projects because she isn’t seen hobnobbing with them, yet she continues to receive appointments. Congratulations to her.” another user added.
