President Bola Tinubu has announced the appointment of Mr. Khalil Suleiman Halilu as the new Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI).
The appointment, made official on Friday, comes in accordance with the relevant sections of the NASENI Act, 2014, and will see Mr. Halilu assume his role for an initial term of five years.
Khalil Suleiman Halilu is a serial entrepreneur and technology enthusiast.
He’s the Founder and Chairman of The CANs Technology Hub, CEO of ShapShap Technologies Limited, and the founder of OyaOya, an on-demand commodity marketplace.
Halilu has a diverse portfolio of tech ventures and serves on multiple company boards.
He holds degrees in Business Administration and International Business, and he’s an active member of various clubs and organizations.
Born in Kano, Nigeria, in 1990, he comes from a family with a strong entrepreneurial background.
Mr. Halilu, a youthful 32-year-old innovator and technology expert, is expected to infuse his wealth of experience into this vital national responsibility.
As a result of this decision, the tenure of Dr. Bashir Gwandu as the Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NASENI has been terminated.
The President’s directive ensures the immediate effect of Mr. Khalil Suleiman Halilu’s appointment, marking the beginning of a new chapter for NASENI under his leadership.
