Sunday Dare, Special Adviser on Media & Public Communication to President Bola Tinubu, has sharply criticized a recent television appearance by former Secretary to the Government of the Federation Babachir Lawal, calling it an incoherent and desperate attempt to bait the President.
In a recent interview, Lawal claimed that Peter Obi won the 2023 general elections, not Tinubu.
He also accused Tinubu of being arrogant, and stated he would never accept an appointment from the current administration due to his lack of faith in it.
In response, Dare made a post on his X handle, labelling Lawal as “latest political content creator” who is seeking attention from people due to his inability to secure a spot in the current administration.
Dare’s message condemned Lawal’s remarks as wildly inconsistent, highlighting that the man who once invoked the “wrath of God” against Tinubu’s detractors has now turned into an outspoken critic.
He furthered by calling him a “fair-weather friend,” “opportunist,” and “clout chaser.”
Dare cautioned that Lawal’s continued attacks serve only to diminish his credibility, warning that his public tolerance is unlikely to last.
This marks the latest development in the political rivalry between former SGF and president Tinubu.
