Nigerian street-hop artist, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has raised alarm over an alleged attempt on his life during a recent performance in Ikorodu, Lagos State.

The controversial singer claimed that while performing at Sky Home, Ikorodu, he was attacked by an unidentified man who allegedly injected him with a substance and fled the scene.

In a dramatic narration posted online, Portable said, “I swear, I’m awake. Thank God today is another day. Only those who die today won’t see tomorrow. Alhamdulillah.”

According to him, the event was highly attended and he was paid N10 million to perform, but the value of the people he met there was “close to N100 billion.”

“They came to watch me and take pictures. But I observed one guy who came with an injection. He injected me and ran away. They want to kill me like Mohbad,” he claimed, referencing the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, whose death sparked controversies in the entertainment industry.

Portable said he defended himself by striking the alleged attacker with a microphone and eventually sustained injuries after a crowd surge.

“I protected myself with the mic and hit his head. I also got injured as over 30 billion people fell on me. But I thank God I didn’t die,” he added.

As of press time, Portable had not released medical proof or police reports to support the claim, and efforts to reach his management for further comments were unsuccessful.

The singer is known for his unfiltered commentary and has previously made headlines for a series of controversial statements and run-ins with authorities.
