The Chairman, Senate Committee on Industries and the Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Senator Tokunbo Abiru has congratulated Muslims in the senatorial district and across Nigeria on the occasion of 2022 Eid-El-Kabir.
Abiru, in a goodwill message he personally signed in Lagos on Friday, implored Muslims and all Nigerians not to relent in prayers for the nation and also leave peacefully with one another regardless of their religious persuasions.
Senator also called on Nigerians to collectively support the government in stemming the tide of insecurity and other challenges facing the nation. According to him, the protracted challenges facing the nation require efforts of all people of good conscience.
“I am as disturbed as all other Nigerians of good conscience about the state of affairs in our dear nation, especially the precarious security situation,” he said.
“As the Federal and sub-national governments are making frantic efforts in neutralising these agents of doom, we should all support in our respective ways.”
He encouraged Nigerians not to give up on the country, adding that greater days lie ahead as the National Leader and the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to become the country’s president with their support.
Abiru also called on Nigerians of voting age who are yet to register in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) to do the needful and ensure they exercise their civic duty in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
