This is the story of beautiful black actress and television star, Robin Givens who has respectfully made quite an impression in the biggest movie industry in the world. Born 56 years ago, Robin has acted in dozens of Hollywood movies and tv series including ‘The Cosby Show’, ‘Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’, ‘Everybody Hates Chris’, ‘Lucifer’, ‘Riverdale’ and tens of others. One aspect which however appears fascinating to many is her romance life which has over the years been in the spotlight.
Meet Robin Givens (Queen of celebrity relationships).
As a teenager in the early 80s who was having it all in college, Robin met and dated Hollywood sweetheart, Eddie Murphy who was on the verge of becoming the biggest name in the movie world. 16-year-old Robin was all smitten by the actor that they hit it up immediately. The relationship has however been described as a fling from both corners. Robin Givens even once disclosed in an interview that they are now good friends.
Up next up the radar for Givens was Michael Jordan who would go on the become one of the greatest basketball legends and indeed one of the most iconic sportsmen of all time. Robin and Michael met in 1986 and dated briefly for about a year before calling it quits.
By the year 1987, Robin met then boxing rave of the moment, Mike Tyson and they started dating afterwards. In less than a year, the smitten couple walked down the aisle while observers speculated that the then 23-year-old was indeed a gold digger who was after Tyson’s fortune. Tyson who was at the time the heavyweight champion was worth $50 million.
Robin however claimed they were all wrong which got proven when details came out that the couple didn’t sign a prenuptial agreement as many expected. The marriage would however go through turbulent times as the actress was severally abused by the boxer who on more than one occasion punched her. In the process, she ended up with a miscarriage although Tyson claims she was never pregnant and only used the claim to get him to marry her.
The marriage was dissolved exactly one year and one week later but the couple remained close despite unwarranted fights.
While the going was good, Tyson during his boxing adventures got close to then moneybag, Donald Trump who would later become America’s president.
The relationship between Trump and Tyson started from a professional angle and the former invested into the fights of Tyson which would later bring them close as friends as associates. Tyson would also later appoint Trump as an advisor although that was also short-lived.
However, while the going was good, Tyson is reported to have once accused Donald Trump of sleeping with Robin. According to Tim O’Brien formerly of New York Times’ biography of Donald Trump titled ‘TrumpNation: The Art of being Donald’, the future American president revealed that his relationship with Mike Tyson went south after the champ accused him of sleeping with his wife. Donald Trump revealed that he got scared when Tyson asked him that question but he never disclosed what his response was or if they was any iota of truth in it.
After finalising her divorce from Tyson, Robin went on to date actor Brad Pitt whom she had been friends with for quite a while. They first both met in drama class before they again met on set of ‘Head of Class’ where Givens had been playing a lead role. Years later, Tyson claimed he once caught them making out during the period of their divorce but this was refuted by Givens.
In 1997, she again married Svetozar Marinkovic, her tennis instructor but the union lasted for less than a year before the couple separated. She later went into a relationship with Jenson Murphy whom she has a son with but the relationship lasted only a few months.
At the beginning of the new millennium, Robin Givens again dated American media personality, Howard Allan Stern; again just for a few months.
However, for almost two decades, she has piped low and very little or nothing is known about her relationships. She has also over the years spoken more about her time with Mike Tyson whom it was revealed she is still in love with.
The actress has two sons; Michael ‘Buddy’ Givens whom she adopted in 1994 and William ‘Billy’ Jenson whom she had from her relationship with Murphy Jenson.
