Nigerian Music act Tems, Doja Cat, and J Balvin will headline the first-ever halftime show at a FIFA competition, the football body announced Monday in partnership with Global Citizen.
The groundbreaking performance is set to take place on July 13 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey during the final match of the FIFA Club World Cup, marking a new era of entertainment for global football.
“For the first-ever halftime show in a FIFA competition, we’re proud to partner with Global Citizen to bring together a global superstar lineup,” said FIFA President Gianni Infantino.
“Together we are going to make history on a special occasion where football and music unite the world.”
The initiative isn’t just about entertainment.
FIFA and Global Citizen said the halftime show will help drive a noble cause, supporting global education through the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund.
A portion of proceeds from every ticket sold will be invested in giving children around the world access to learning and play.
Colombian reggaeton artist J Balvin called the opportunity a major cultural moment.
“From Medellín to MetLife — I’m honored to headline the first-ever halftime show of the FIFA Club World Cup final,” he said.
“It’s a historic moment for me, for Latin culture, and for every kid who dreams big.”
Tems, the Nigerian Grammy-winning singer and rising global star, echoed that sentiment in her own statement.
“We’re going to bring the world together for a beautiful moment — to celebrate football, feel the unity that music brings, and improve the lives of millions of children through the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund. I can’t wait — see you at the FIFA Club World Cup final!”
Doja Cat, a multi-award-winning American rapper and singer, also brings her global influence to the show, adding to the star-studded lineup.
The FIFA Club World Cup 2025 is scheduled to take place in the United States from June 14 to July 13, hosting elite club teams from around the globe.
Global Citizen, known for leveraging music and activism, is also set to produce the FIFA World Cup Final next year.
With football, music, and global activism coming together on one of the world’s biggest stages, July 13 promises to be a landmark day in both sports and entertainment history.
