Grammy winner, Tems, has officially joined the ownership group of US soccer League known as Major League Soccer (MLS) side San Diego FC (SDFC) as a club partner.

This exciting announcement was made by the MLS, marking a major achievement for the Nigerian afrobeat star.

Tems entered the MLS scene through her company, The Leading Vibe, and is now a co-owner of the club.

SDFC chairman, Sir Mohamed Mansour, expressed excitement about Tems’ addition, highlighting her global influence as an artist.

“Tems is a globally significant artist who will help us reach new audiences and spread the word about our unique project,” Mansour said in a statement.

In response to the announcement, Tems shared her enthusiasm, saying, “I am thrilled to join San Diego FC’s ownership group and to be part of a club that celebrates creativity, culture, and the power of community.”

She went on to explain that she is eager to help build something special in San Diego, a city known for its diversity and innovation.

Tems also referenced the club’s connection to sub-Saharan Africa through its foundation, the Right to Dream organization, as an important element of her decision to become involved with the club.

With her addition, SDFC hopes to further cement its commitment to global outreach and community-building.
