Who would take Fayose to London? Ekiti Governor also wants to visit President Buhari
Many were surprised at the non-inclusion of the Ekiti whe State Governor, Ayodele Fayose when six of his colleagues were chosen to visit ailing President Muhammadu Buhari in London.
Although the Presidency quickly denied involvement in making up the list claiming it was drawn by the leadership of the Nigerian Governor’s Forum, it appears Fayose hasnt dropped his ambition to see Buhari one on one.
Fayose who has been the biggest critic of the President in a recent interview disclosed that he would love to go see the President but he was being denied access.
“For me, I’ll love to go there (the UK) to see (him). But if they say they are not giving me a passage, it is all well and good, as long as the President is hale and hearty. If he is not fit, let him resign,” Fayose said in an interview with the Punch.
He however claims he is not worried that that he was not included in the list which had Dave Umahi (Ebonyi State), Umar Ganduje (Kano State), Kashim Shettima (Borno State), Samuel Ortom (Benue State), Udom Emmanuel (Akwa Ibom State) and Abiola Ajimobi (Oyo State).
He said, “I’m indifferent. Nigerians wanted me to be there. But I believe in the judgment of my colleagues. If Nigerians wanted me to be there but they (Buhari’s handlers) didn’t give me the access, what can I do? I have to move on and join them to wish the President well. What is important is Nigeria.”
