The death of Tagbo Umeike, a friend of Davido (David Adeleke) and member of the 30 Billion Gang, has resurfaced amid recent accusations from a Nigerian artiste identified as Emmanuel Johnson-Ademola popularly known as Dammy Krane, sparking a legal dispute.
Krane’s tweet, which mocked David’s upcoming wedding and insinuated serious allegations, has drawn swift legal action from Davido’s team.
Tagbo Umeike passed away in 2017 due to excessive alcohol consumption, as confirmed by autopsy reports.
Dammy Krane’s tweet, which mocked Davido’s upcoming wedding, was deemed hurtful and false. It read: ‘There’s nothing worse than murder #davido. You can have money but not peace #Karma. Ps: Never get married because your girl caught you cheating and you want to suffer. Congratulations Owe B Owe — Big Daddy Krane.’
In the letter dated Friday, June 21, Davido’s lawyers emphasized that their client, a Grammy award nominee and renowned music icon, has never been charged with or convicted of any crime, including murder. They demanded Dammy Krane delete the tweet and cease making baseless accusations against Davido within 24 hours, warning of legal action for damages and seeking court orders to stop further defamation.
The letter states, ‘We are instructed by our client that you have persistently published defamatory statements on your social media platforms, which he finds not only offensive but also constituting cyberbullying.’”
This has prompted a reaction with an X user stating “Dammy Krane go later learn the hard way”
Another user added “Some people talk without thinking of the implications especially when it’s serious allegations”
However, Krane has reacted after Davido Issued him a cease stating on his X page “btw I’m not deleting any tweet, stand ten toes of my word the truth is the light justice for Tagbo”.
