Sylvester Ogunkelu: Driven By The People, For The People

 

Driven by the commitment to serve, Comrade Ogunkelu Oluwaseun Oluwadahunsi, Chairman Committee on Sustainable Development Goal (SDG), at the Lagos State House of Assembly representing the good people of Epe Constituency 2, has come a long way. He has over the years been at the forefront of bringing service to the people of Epe right from his days as serving as a member the caretaker committee of Eredo LCDA. In the last one year of being saddled with the responsibility of serving his people as a lawmaker, he has carried out several people-driven and selfless deeds aimed at improving the socio-economic condition of his people.

Comrade Ogunkelu did not just arrive the Nigerian political scene from nowhere, he seems destined to make an impact by the day he choose to grace earth, his birth date is akin to that of Nigeria’s national day, making his over four decade of existence a day to reminiscence on the sacrifices of Nigeria’s heroes past and the responsibilities on current players to make a difference .

Talking about creating a sustainable connection with people, Comrade Ogunkelu since becoming LAHA member has been driven by the passion to run an all inclusive, people-driven legislature which is why he recently championed a stakeholders meeting, necessary to create a one-one relationship and feedback channel with his constituents.

Because of his passion to give back to the community, Sketel as popularly called amongst his teeming followers sponsored a free eye medical program, were medical items were distributed to the people, championed the provision of borehole for communities in need and provided scholarships to student beneficiaries from the Epe Constituency 2. The scholarships where anchored on the need to build new generation of responsible citizens in Epe Constituency 2.

In a bid to support the efforts of the government in curbing the novel COVID-19 virus, Comrade Ogunkelu organised programs to sensitize the public on the risk and prevention of COVID-19.

The people’s man didn’t stop there, as he also distributed relief palliatives to Epe Constituents.

Meet Comrade Ogunkelu Oluwaseun Oluwadahunsi

He was born on October 1st 1979. His father is a native of Ibonwon while his mum from Igboye under Eredo LCDA in Epe Local Government area of Lagos State.

Comrade Ogunkele who is the current Chairman of Lagos State Assembly Committee on Sustainable Development Goals, attended Army barracks primary school, Epe between 1987 and 1992, secondary school 1993-1998, before proceeding to Lagos state university, ojo, between 1998 to 2004 where he sharpened his teeth in student representation. He holds a Masters in Public AdminIstration from same LASU, and a Professional Qualification from Institute of Business Strategy(IBS) which he was awarded in 2014.

In his university days he registered his disposition for an ideal society, hence, he ventured into students unionism, and quickly became a vanguard student activist and was elected as the Financial Secretary  of the Lagos State University Students Union Government.

His credibility was never in doubt or questioned by anybody, as he also served under the Lagos State Internal revenue Service as a revenue supervisor.

He his also a member of other relevant professional bodies in Nigeria.
