Super Falcons forward, Asisat Oshoala keeps soaring higher with bounty of goals for Barcelona Femeni as she added to her tally against Athletic Club on Sunday.
Oshoala made her 100th appearance for the club against Espanyol last Wednesday. To mark the feat, she contributed a brace to the hauling of the derby club.
The 27-year-old also etched her name in the history books of Barcelona Femeni as the club’s sixth highest goal scorer.
With another goal against Athletic Club on Sunday, Oshoala edges closer to breaking her highest goal record which she made last season. She scored a total of 20 goals during the Spanish Primera Division 2020/2021 season. With eight games left to play, Oshoala stands a chance of breaking the record with ease.
The Nigerian had established herself as one of the most instrumental players for Barcelona Femeni since her permanent switch to the Catalan club from Dalian Quanjian. So far, the former Arsenal and Liverpool striker has scored 80 goals across 101 games for Barcelona.
Reacting after she made her 100th appearance on Wednesday, Barcelona Ladies were excited about the Nigerian’s milestone as expressed in a post on the club’s Instagram page.
“100 games, Asisat Oshoala reaches 3 digit as a Barcelona player! 💙❤️ And with ⚽⚽ included,” the club had written.
Since her move to Spain, Oshoala has won five trophies with Barcelona Femeni. She has two Premier Division, a UEFA Women Champions League, one Super Copa Femenina, and two Copa Del la Reina medals on her cabinet.
