The Nigerian senior football team, Super Eagles have been ranked as the most expensive national team in Africa.
According to Transfer Markt, this ranking places them in the 13th position of the most expensive football team in the world.
This rating is owed to a number of the Super Eagles stars who play for clubs in Europe’s most lucrative leagues including Victor Osimhen.
Osimhen, the Napoli forward currently holds the record as the most expensive African player making him the biggest player in the Super Eagles and he is expected to command a huge transfer fee if he decides to leave Napoli this summer.
Other players such as Alex Iwobi, Samuel Chukwueze, Ademola Lookman, Joe Aribo, Terem Moffi and Maduka Okoye also contribute to the huge value placed on the Super Eagles.
After the Super Eagles, the football teams of Morocco, Ivory Coast, Ghana and Senegal complete the top five teams in Africa.
