Sportswear giant Nike has officially unveiled new home and away kits for Nigeria’s national team, the Super Eagles, sparking widespread reactions among fans.
The kits, released on Monday, feature a striking redesign that blends Nigeria’s traditional colours with modern aesthetics. The home jersey comes in a vibrant green base with darker green panels and dotted graphic patterns, maintaining the country’s iconic football identity while introducing a fresh look.
According to details of the release, the shirt also incorporates armour-inspired side panels, designed to symbolise strength and competitiveness on the pitch.
The away kit, however, has drawn the most attention for its bold and unconventional design. It features a white base with flame-like patterns in different shades of green, inspired by motocross and dirt bike graphics.
Both jerseys place the Nigeria Football Federation crest centrally on the chest, alongside the Nike logo, marking a stylistic departure from previous designs.
The unveiling has already generated mixed reactions online, with some fans praising the creativity and daring concept, while others have questioned the unconventional look of the away kit.
The new kits come despite Nigeria’s failure to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and are expected to be worn in upcoming international fixtures.
Nike has been the official kit supplier to Nigeria since 2015, producing several widely acclaimed designs, including the globally popular 2018 World Cup jersey.
More details on availability and debut fixtures are expected to be announced by the Nigeria Football Federation in the coming weeks.
