A late goal from Genk star, Paul Onuachu sealed the game 1-0 in favour of the Super Eagles in Saturday’s qualifying match for 2021 Africa Cup of Nations against their Benin Republic counterparts at the Charles de Gaulle stadium in Porto-Novo.

Onuachu, who came in as a substitute for Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho in the 71 minutes, scored Nigeria lone goal in 93 minutes of the match.

Three-time African champions Nigeria, with the victory, ended the Squirrels’ eight-year unbeaten home record.

The Eagles now comfortably lead the table with 11 points, followed by Benin 7point while Sierra Leone and Lesotho are with 4 and 3 points respectively.

Meanwhile, Nigeria already qualified for the AFCON tournament before the match after Lesotho and Sierra Leone played a goalless draw at the Setsoto Stadium in Lesotho.
