The Super Eagles of Nigeria have resumed preparations for the upcoming World Cup qualifying clash in Morocco after resolving internal financial disputes that briefly disrupted their training schedule.
Team captain William Troost-Ekong confirmed the development through a post on X stating:
“Issue RESOLVED. Outstanding financials cleared and on ground. Team is UNITED and focussed as before on representing NIGERIA with our maximum for the games ahead!”
This comes just hours after reports emerged that players had boycotted training over unpaid special match bonuses and allowances ahead of their key fixtures in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) reportedly acted swiftly to address the players’ concerns, ensuring payment of all outstanding entitlements.
With the financial dispute now settled, the team is expected to continue full training in Morocco as they prepare to face Gabon in the World Cup playoffs.
