The State House has announced the disengagement of Fegho John Umunubo from his role as Special Assistant to the President on Digital and Creative Economy in the Office of the Vice President.

In a statement issued on September 8, 2025, by Abiodun Oladunjoye, Director of Information and Public Relations at the State House, stakeholders and the general public were informed that Umunubo’s appointment has been terminated with immediate effect.

The statement emphasized that Umunubo no longer represents the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in any capacity. It also warned that anyone engaging with him in the name of the presidency does so at his or her own risk.

“All stakeholders and constituents of the digital and creative economy, at home and abroad, are urged to be guided accordingly,” the State House noted.

Fegho John Umunubo had served as a link between the presidency and Nigeria’s growing digital and creative economy before his exit. The announcement did not provide reasons for his disengagement.
