The Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi has charged Nigerians to collectively tackle the menace of cultism in the country.
In a tweet on Tuesday, Adejobi preached against the sponsorship of the activities of cult groups, noting that such sponsors end up becoming victims themselves.
“Cultism: Don’t ever finance or sponsor cultists in any way, because they will still come after you in no time. Records have shown that those who sponsor or promote cultists end up being victims of their overzealousness, callous, evil and criminal nature,” he wrote.
“We need to collectively tackle cultism in our land so as to mitigate and/or curb crimes and criminality to barest minimum. We need peace and tranquility in Nigeria.”
Last week, the Lagos State Police Command arrested two suspected cultists for the murder of a rival cult member at a restaurant in Alapere area of the state.
