Sorting of ballots underway at APC presidential primary

Over 2,000 delegates have cast their votes at the ongoing presidential primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja.

This comes after almost four hours of voting by the delegates who are drawn from the 36 states of the federation and the FCT.

The governor of Kebbi State, Atiku Bagudu, who is the returning officer of the presidential primary, announced that sorting of ballots commenced immediately after the voting ended.

Upon the sorting of ballots, the counting of votes will begin, as the party seeks to determine the presidential flagbearer of the APC for the 2023 elections.

BlackBox Nigeria had reported that seven presidential aspirants stepped down from the race to support the candidacy of the party’s National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

In a related development, another aspirant, Nicholas Felix also relinquished his presidential ambition for Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
