Nigerian singer, Oluseun Anikulapo Kuti, youngest son of Afrobeat legend, Fela Kuti has marked his 40th birthday.
Seun, also known as ‘Big Bird’, took to his Instagram page on Wednesday to share photos of himself as he clocks four decades on earth and joins the league of African Elders.
The singer penned, “Happy birthday to meeeeeeeeee!!! The goal is to become an African Elder ie one that has aged with grace and dignity that the young ones can emulate. I am happy to make it to 40!! The journey continues.”
In another post, Seun uploaded photos of himself dressed in royal attire and expressed his gratitude to people for showing him love on his big day.
“Oya make una help me rate the slides. I can’t keep calm. This 40 is called ‘baby forty’ no be all those ‘Agba 40’ oooo. #BBK40. Thanks for all the luv so far my people. Keep it coming. It’s needed and appreciated,” he captioned the post.
Seun’s wife, Yetunde also celebrated her husband as she uploaded beautiful photos captioned with an emotional note where she extolled his virtues.
She wrote, “I always have so much to say every year! Because you never stop rocking my world. But I am making it simple! Life is more fun with you by my side baby. You are one of a kind! Rare asf! You are my rock! And we are going to keep rocking each other’s world! Thanks for all the priceless memories we’ve made together!! I pray that the ancestors continue to guide you through the right parts. I wish nothing but the best for you. Thank you for all you are, not only to me and our daughter but also to the world!
