Popular street-hop singer Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable, has surrendered to the police at the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Yaba, days after being declared wanted for allegedly assaulting government officials in Ogun State.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the development on Wednesday, stating, “Portable just turned himself in at the SCID Yaba. We have contacted Ogun State Police Command to come pick him up.”
Portable’s surrender follows heightened pressure from law enforcement after he failed to respond to multiple invitations. The police had earlier dismissed his claims of undergoing psychiatric treatment, insisting he remained wanted for questioning.
The singer, known for his controversial outbursts and legal troubles, had initially claimed he was being targeted unfairly. However, the police maintained that his actions constituted an offense and vowed to bring him to justice.
