Shun Violence In Forthcoming LGA Elections- Lagos Lawmaker As He Says Voting Is Compulsory

As the day of Local Government Area elections draw nearer, more stakeholders have continued to call for peace in Lagos State. Joining the voice is Hon Olajide Jimoh (Lagos Mainland Federal COnsitutency, APC).

The Federal lawmaker made the call during his party, the All Progressives Congress campaign rally held on Monday. Jimoh disclosed that it was important and compulsory for electorate to vote during the election as it was their civic right and responsibility.

He called on the electorates to vote en mass for the Progressives as he also advised all candidates to make sure the exercise is not a ‘do or die’ affair.

He said, “I urge all the electorates, party members to remain calm, peaceful before, during and after election. All must come out on July 22nd with confidence and perform their civic responsibility. Voters in Yaba LCDA should see voting as their civic responsibility which must be taken as mandatory.”

The campaign rally kicked off at Abule Ijesha then went through Abule-Oja, Igbobi-Sabe, Jibowu, Montgomery, Commercial Avenue and was terminated at the lawmaker’s consituency office in Yaba area of the State.

During the course of the rally, Hon Jimoh introduced the Yaba Chairmanship candidates to the electorates as he canvassed for votes for them and the party.

Saturday’s vote is about choosing who is best to take the this local government to the next level. Therefore, Hon. Kayode Omiyale is the best candidate that will bring a lot of dividends of democracy to our esteemed residents at the grassroots,” he said.

He also added, “today’s rally show that the people of Yaba are ready to vote for our party. Neighbourhood campaign are already on going and more rally will still come before the election.”
