By What a shocking defeat for Usain Bolt as he ends carer
Enigmatic athlete, Usain Bolt ended his fantastic career last night albeit in a disappointing note as he lost his world title to bitter rival and American challenger, Justin Gatlin who clinched the 100m gold medal at the ongoing World Athletics Championships in London.
Bolt an eleven time Gold Medalist at the competition who has also been regarded as the greatest of all time came to third behind Gatlin and Christian Coleman both of the USA to clinch bronze in what many are describing as a disappointing moment. His 9.95secs was not enough for Gatlin who ran 9.92 and Coleman’s 9.94.
This is the first time Usain Bolt would lose in a final race.
Usain Bolt who retires after the Championships has remained the most celebrated athlete since he came on board to rule over the 100m and 200m holding the world records in both category. He is also an Olympic legend after winning a record 8 Gold medals from Beijing (2008), London (2012) and Rio de Janeiro (2016).
It was however all love for the 30-year-old Usain Bolt as the new world champion, Justin Gatlin paid homage to the legend moments after defeating him. Gatlin was captured captured in bowing for the legend after which they shared a warm embrace.
