The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has been thrown into shock following the unfortunate death of one of its major stalwarts.
The Chairman of the party in Atakumosa East Central Local Government Area of the state, Gbenga Ogbara was reportedly shot dead by unknown gunmen in the early hours of Monday.
According to Daily Post, the politician had his house invaded by the armed assailants who shot him repeatedly until he gave up the ghost. Other details about the unfortunate incident are still sketchy at the time of filing this report.
Confirming the development, the Police Public Relations Officer, Osun Command, Yemisi Opalola said that investigation is ongoing and promised that the perpetrators will not go unpunished.
“The APC Chairman was killed around 12am by some gunmen. Policemen have since been deployed to the area. Investigation is ongoing on the matter. The criminals will not escape justice,” she was quoted as saying.
