Spanish side Sevilla FC has formalized a collaboration agreement with the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) as part of its global expansion strategy.

The agreement aims to facilitate mutual development in football, focusing on coach training and youth player development in Nigeria.

NPFL President Gbenga Elegbeleye visited Sevilla FC’s facilities and met with President José María del Nido Carrasco, including a tour of the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán stadium.

“We are pleased to partner with the Nigerian Professional League,” said José María del Nido Carrasco. “Sevilla FC believes this alliance will benefit NPFL clubs and foster the growth of young Nigerian talent. It represents a significant step in our global strategy, particularly in Nigeria where support has grown following the signing of Chidera Ejuke.”

Elegbeleye emphasized the agreement’s potential impact on Nigerian football, highlighting opportunities for youth players to train at Sevilla FC annually. “This partnership is beneficial for NPFL clubs and players,” he noted. “It includes initiatives to improve coaching standards, ensuring long-term benefits for Nigerian football.”

The NPFL delegation, led by Elegbeleye, also visited Sevilla FC’s training facilities at Ciudad Deportiva José Ramón Cisneros Palacios. The visit included discussions and planning sessions aimed at implementing the collaboration effectively.
